At St. Paul's, we want to provide young people with a foundation for faith that can last a lifetime. One of the ways that we seek to do this is through a class on the Apostle's Creed, an ancient summary of the core beliefs of our faith. The class is once a month and for one year and is led primarily by our Lead Pastor. In this interactive class, students learn and discuss the meaning of each phrase in the Creed, one line at a time.
We aspire to begin a new class each calendar year. If you are interested, please email Pastor Ryan to find out more information or to sign up for the next class.
The Apostle's Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty
Creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and was born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit
The holy catholic* Church,
The communion of saints,
The forgiveness of sins,
The resurrection of the body and the life everlasting.
* as a non-denominational church, we use the word "catholic" in the general sense of the word ("universal" = "for people of all cultures, nations, etc"), not as an expression of identification with what is known as the "Roman Catholic" church).
